Nice to see Kagayama conquer the Cadwell circuit today after falling off and nearly killing himself there a while back (in 2003). For those who missed it, he did a big celebratory wheelie and doughnut to show he’s back! [:p]
He said: “This is a special win for me, and this is a special circuit for me for all reasons. I’m much happier now.”
In the first face Rutter was followed to the line by team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari, who Rutter admitted had been “nice” to him. “There are no team orders, and he was close behind all of the time,” said Rutter.
Rutter gambled on full wet tyres for the second race and was forced out halfway through. That means he now trails Reynolds by 33 points in the overall standings.
