On a recent trip to France in the Cognac region, I came across an English style pub at the side of the Charente river. After a chat with the owner, Simon, he would welcome any Forum member to camp in his grounds at the side of the river (very scenic) free of charge. Being a keen biker himself, he welcomes anyone on 2 wheels. There are regular bands playing at the pub and they serve some excellent draught ales. It would be a great stop-off for anyone passing down through France.
