After not making one of these meets for the better part of two years all of sudden I manage to get to two on the trot! I dragged out the Ducati for this outing and over the course of the day knocked up 162 miles including my ride to work. I had forgotten just how glorious this bike is to ride…great chassis, tuneful exhausts; it’s light, flickable and fun!

As for the bike meet despite slightly overcast conditions hundreds of bikes rocked up once more and provided a spectacular sight lined up outside the pub and alongside the River Severn. Once more the Big E joined me on his Tiger and we both enjoyed a good night checking out bikes of all types and sizes. We had a good natter with of our fellow bikers and as usual much cash was raised for the Air Ambulance.

The location was stunning too; Epney is a tiny Gloucestershire village and The Anchor Pub nestles right up next to the river…the haunting evening light provided a stunning backdrop. My only regret was that I couldn’t hang on for the ‘Severn-Bore’ a tidal surge that makes its’ way up river a few times each year. One was expected tonight and people have been known to even surf it…I kid you not

I enjoyed a hearty lamb curry and a pint and I did allow myself a little smile when our beloved plod turned up in  BMW 5 series….all they found was several hundred well behaved, middle-aged people doing no harm at all whilst providing a free bike show for locals and raising money for a great cause! They soon wondered off…

Anyway another good night…time for the best bit…piccies…!!
