Big summer ride for Brett, May 11th 2008

I am only organising one ride out this year, which will be a memorial ride in Brett’s memory to raise funds to go towards paying for his headstone. I have 3 possible dates in mind, which ever is the most popular is the one I will go with, if the weather forecast turns out to be crap on the date, I will cancel and go with another date if thats going to mean more riders. Its a £5 minimum to come along, but the more raised the better so what ever you wish to contribute will be gratefully received. I have not worked out a route yet, have a few in mind, but those of you who have ridden with me before know it wont be boring. The dates in mind are Sunday May 11th, Sunday June 29th or Sunday July 13th. Those wanting to come along, copy and paste the attendance list above your post and add your name, putting the date most convenient for you next to your name.

as you can see, looks like it will be a large ride out, everyone will be split into groups, a leader and 2 marshals (a drop off and a tail ender) for each group (most likely 3 or 4 groups of 10 if everyone turns up)

Mr.M and the guys from 1066mcc helped marshalling Ryans Ride, which was much bigger, so will ask if they will help marshal. Biggest group I have led is 22 bikes, looks like there will be at least double that and I cant do it alone.

a date has been decided on, 11th of May. If the weather forecasted is too bad on that day, it will be rescheduled for the 13th of July.
The route looks to be as follows –
Meet at Crossgates, Elan dams to Pontrhydgroes, Ysbyty Yswyth, Pontrhydfendigaid, Tregaron, Abergwesyn, Beulah, Builth Wells and back to Crossgates before everyone splits up to head to there homes.
This route is not a firm definite until I have had chance to go and ride it and check it out in the next month or so.

The route will be the loop.

I will be at Crossgates for about 11am, the ride will leave at 12pm sharp. Payment for the ride is £5 minimum to be paid on the day. The ride will be marshalled, the pace will be relaxed.
I will be uploading a printable flyer for folks to download and give to who ever they think may be interested in joining the ride. The above map can be downloaded at printed should you wish, but I will make sure that all marshals know the route before the day.
