If the weather is OK I will be heading over again. Anybody else up for it?
April 26, 2009 at 6:40 pm #58076ses310ModeratorI would do but had an off today… Some old bloke coming off an island decided to do a u turn right in front of me without looking or indicating. I hit some gravel and the front went from under me. Luckily was only probably doing about 5mph at the time, wrecked the fairing, indicator, bent the rear brake pedal and dented the exhaust.

Not a happy bunny !Gutted for you Ses. Glad you are Ok though. Did he stop and what is the insurance situation?
April 26, 2009 at 7:17 pm #58078ses310ModeratorYeah he did stop, repeorted it to my broker when I got back and my Insurance company is going to ring me tommorrow. So will have to wait and see. Really hoping I can claim off him.
April 26, 2009 at 7:25 pm #58079TT07ParticipantGlad your OK sounds like it could cost a few bob to get her back to the fine fettle that she was. Where did it happen?
April 26, 2009 at 7:28 pm #58080ses310ModeratorJust off junction 6 at worcester by warndon. I was coming from warndon at the last island going straight on towards the motorway island, just gone over the island and the car in front decided to do a u turn !
April 26, 2009 at 7:31 pm #58081BigBenParticipantsorry to hear that.
might be a problem with claiming as the insurance company might turn around and say no one can prove anything, unless the “nearly dead” actually admitted liability. we all know what insurance companies are like. and old people for that matterApril 26, 2009 at 7:48 pm #58082RadarModeratorYou are welcome to come to Bassetts on the pillion mate. You up for it this week TT?
Keep us posted about the insurance situation Ses
April 26, 2009 at 7:54 pm #58083ses310ModeratorYeah I will keep you posted, not that hopeful but you never know…. I will let you know about Bassetts, thanks for the offer
April 26, 2009 at 7:56 pm #58084RadarModeratorIf worst comes to the worst is the fairing repairable? Toggs came off his ZX6R a few years back and had the fairing repaired resprayed in sandard colours by a car body shop I think. He might still have the details
April 26, 2009 at 7:57 pm #58085ses310ModeratorIt is repairable, my mates dad owns a body shop, going to take it there and get a quote to see how much it will cost to be repaired.
April 26, 2009 at 7:58 pm #58086TT07ParticipantYes fingers crossed regarding the insurance and the liability angle. Radar the weather looks good for Tuesday count me in.
April 26, 2009 at 8:03 pm #58087ses310ModeratorHere is a pic of the damage.
April 26, 2009 at 8:24 pm #58088RadarModeratorLooks repairable at least. Did you take pics of the scene?
April 26, 2009 at 8:26 pm #58089katanaParticipantBad luck Ses. As it was his fault I would push for a new fairing rather then offer a repair.
I’m going to try a sneek away from work early on Tuesday. So Weather permitting I’ll break my Bassetts Pole duck. A friend of ours has her brother visiting from Ireland on his Triumph. I’ll try and drag him along as well.
