In 2002 (last year for figures) a 40% increase in tickets issued after being caught by a cameras was recorded. Same period only a 0.6% decrease in road deaths. It is down to eduction of drivers and better roads, not just nicking people for minor offences.
Spend the money wasted on cameras and the supporting infrastructure on something else!!! Something that will work!! Less bumpy roads, better signs!! Education of drivers and riders!! More intelligent and discrimating poloice work.

What they also fail to state is the annual increase in traffic, this could throw their figures well out.
