CGR Bike Gear has been working on a number of ideas for 2010. A new touring undergarment and some urban camo fleeces are currently on the design table.
Does any forum member have any suggestions or is anyone having difficulties in getting hold of items of clothing that they used to buy? Anyone that has visited the site will know that as a new company we listen intently to our customers. It’s a supply and demand world we will listen to your demands.
All suggestions, however ridiculous will be welcome.

Just a general comment mate
Ive found theres plenty of good kit out there but the main problem for me is sizing, i’m skinny & 6′ tall with long arms & legs, so its always a problem to get a decent fit Eg undergarments always ride up on the arms & legs unless i buy bigger waist or chest than i need then they hang off me like a sack
it seems most clothing makers think if you are 6′ tall you must be 15 stone of gut & flab, its even worse for women from what ive seen of the girlie struggling so i was wondering if you were addressing these issues & those of the shortarse chubby folk ? [
]A bit from left field but how about a fleece that converts into a helmet bag with a handle or shoulder strap. So that when you get to where you are going you don’t have to lug it about in one hand, leave under the table in the pub unprotected to get kicked, etc. Also most times once you are off the bike it’s to hot to wear a fleece so you need to cart that around as well.

I got another idea. What about a fleece with arms that can be removed, like those kahki shorts/trousers? That way you could use it armless as a body warmer or even sell alternative arms so you could mix and match with arm/body combinations people that have toasty bodies but cold arms or the other way round.

Have you been chatting to someone we know? The tourer that we are releasing in the next few months is along that exact line. Seriously, has someone mentioned it to you?
Nope no one has mentioned it to me, I got the idea watching Top Gear when Richard Hammond was wearing those shorts/trousers. Great minds think alike.
The best bit of kit I have is a thermal balaclava from Damart. It was a Xmas pressie back in 1987 when I’d just started riding (just started my apprenticeship). I’ve tried umpteen different new balaclavas, and have binned the lot, but I’m still using the old one! Its double lined, like tracksuit fleece material.. and very warm in winter !!!

I found the one I wore always got moist around the mouth area when I breathed (no not spit or licked)and I ended up always have chapped lips and even worse helmet hair than usual. I couldn’t keep the damn thing clean either as sometimes it was a bu**er to dry overnight when you wear it every day and someone moves it off the radiator. When you get a cold/flu the nose/mouth area will also maintain the bugs and I swore I kept colds longer when I wore one.
We will not be going down that route any time soon (sorry if thats what the suggestion was)as I think helmet designers should pull their fingers out and make us an all singing, all dancing, heated, air conditioned filtered one at a price we can all afford.

i do believe theres already something in existance that keeps you all toasty warm…its a carI use a neck tube and find that keeps the cold out better than a scarf. I find a balaclava a bit constrictive and interferes with the helmet fit. I like the idea of temp controlled mist free lid though
Thats why we modified polo-neck sweaters Radar…I am with you on the neck tube type of thing.
I disagree Benji…carbon fibre technology is amazingly strong yet light. The real reason will be the high cost implications and the small number of sales as a result. We have nano-technology and can put men on the moon. Anything can be done but rarely will it be unless there is a huge sales return.
Right got another idea.
What about putting a visor pocket onto the side of a fleece? That way you don’t have to have a seperate visor bag.
If you aren’t carring a clear visor to swap with a naughty tinted one you could use the pocket to carry a pasty or banana.
carbon fibre itself is actually not as strong as people think, its strong in one direction then flex it in the other and its really brittle. its when its carbon-kevlar impregnated that it becomes ridiculously strong. but still..no matter how light the lid was the heater would weigh it down a bit too much

I find that garments under jackect tend to ‘ride’ up most infuratingly as you go along, leaving a drafty portion of my back at the belt line exposed.
Wondered if you could combat this in a new way without tops as long as night shirts?
For example, what about a hook / clip system to trousers, or belts. Maybe the cam over clips that are used on bracers could be developed as an idea?
