Although this is a speeding article, I thought i’d post it here for all to see.
HONDA is recalling nearly 8,200 motorcycles because the digital speedometer is repotedly telling drivers they are driving slower than they really are.
A programme error on some of the year 2004 motorcycles in the US causes the speedometer to reduce the actual speed by about 25 per cent, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
“This condition can result in the vehicle being driven at an illegal or unsafe speed,” NHTSA said in an advisory on its website.
Yahoonews.com claimed that police may have noticed an increase in people breaking speed limits on the late-model Honda motorcycles.
Wish my XV could do 25% more than it says[]
