A few months ago now I went to the excellent Shuttleworth Collection for their annual ‘Wings and Wheels’ event…vintage aircraft, cars bikes and planes…suffice it to say I was a happy boy!
I meant to post pictures at the time, but forgot…
So here they are…better late than never I suppose!
Even the bike-park contained some real beauties, such as this single cylinder Ducati
Happy man on Velocette, shame about the modern crash helmet
The chaps on these BSA machines had the right idea for headgear…
Norton to the rescue
Got to love a Vincent
Andy (aka ‘Thumper’) was smitten with this Guzzi as was I
Who needs carbon fibre when you have wicker?
Lots of military kit in evidence too like this Dodge of WW2 vintage
One of several lovely inter-war years bi-planes that put up a spirited display..this is a Hawker Demon
My aerial photography is not the best….
Amongst the rows of lovely classic cars this Riley caught my eye
The Consolidated PBY-A Catalina
The hangers housed some fabulous aircraft, not least this immaculate Hawker Hurricane
We rode around the grounds in this charming old bus
Bike to bikes, well just about…looks fun though!
Very stately stance encouraged when riding this Premier no doubt
Simple but somehow appealing wartime BSA in RAF livery…just the thing for getting to one’s Hurricane in a bit of a dash!Another place well worth a visit!

Some info on the planes in the pics:

I think the Ducati was a 450cc, but there a few different sizes of single offed by them over the years
