Yeah, i thought it was but wasn’t sure if the import codes are the same. Didn’t get to finish fitting the forks last night- the GS ones needed a bit of drilling and tapping of a broken bolt on the spindle clamp. Top yoke fitted a treat with stainless bars. I’ve had to loose the ignition switch because of mounting the clocks, but i’ve always wanted a remote starter anyway so here’s my chance! just got to fit the forks tonight and make up the brake lines, fit the new tyre, sort the ignition and on and on and on. Then it will be ready for the weekend – the first annual Brewers Arms bike show in Banwell, north somerset.

The Kat is a jap 750. Bog standard but with numerous stainless bolts, goodridge etc. I’m not sure if the model codes are the same for the imports but has the 19″ and 18″ wheels, and is surprisingly silver !!! This evening i’m about to fit gs1000 forks in as the originals have leaking seals where its been stood, and i’m too darn lazy to get mucky changing them, plus it means the anti-dive can go. I’ve got an ET top yoke to fit so i can fit conventional bars too.
An MZ301 is the fore-runner to the saxon (2-stroke single, butt ugly)
Its the winter hack but methinks the crank is on the way out coz it never used to sound like that….I will be looking for a new engine , even a 250, if not, i’ll scrap it.
