will rear shock off fzr400 fit fz400

hi does anybody know whether there are any others bikes that have a rear shock that will fit 1985 fz400. i need one and i cant find 1 anywhere, i was thinking will one off fzr400 fit or maybe even fz750
any help would be much appreciated

I’m not sure. Radar had a FZ600 and sold it recently on here and I think he may have had a spare rear shock. It might be worth dropping him a PM.

Failing that when I changed the shock on my Katana I measured the distance between the fixings then went to a bike breaker and found one that fitted. I ended up with one off a Triumph.

I sold my spare shock with the bike as there was an advisory on the MOT (a UK annual roadworthiness check)related to the rear suspension.

Try the Yamaha owners club website, there were a couple of FZs for sale in various states a few months back
