As many of you know, me and a few mates occassionally dabble in the world of bmf moped enduro.
This year… is no exception!
Over the past few races we have done, we have found a major issue with tyres, in particular, no grip in wet track conditions. The track is a shale type surface, and the ‘mud’ gets stuck in the grooves and the tyres turn to slicks causing every issue possible, front locks under braking, rear steps out under power, low sides, high sides, tank slappers… you name it… we’ve done it… and the scooter has the scars to prove it.
Now, for some reason manufactures don’t seem to make a knobbly tyre for a road going Gilera Runner scooter.
So, currently we are running michelin dexters 120/70/12 . The actual wheel is 100mm from wall to wall.
Can we get away with a 90/100/12 or an 80/100/12. Obviously I would need an inner tube, but will it seat properly? ie not too much flex when in a corner?
Any asssitance will be welcomed.

The standard 120/70/12 size for peds is quite a wide one for something that weighs just a bit more than your old raleigh griffter.
I don’t think a 90 or 80 would seat well enough to be of any use!!

The 80/100’s etc are on ebayBesides a Gilera Runner isn’t excatly a light bike as far as scooters go

Might be worth emailing them and see if they have a UK stockist?
I found these winter tyres – but the shop isn’t open yet? So if you find a Sava stockist then you might be able to get them to order these?
