After having been broken into and having probs my fav bike I have ever owned robbed I am really struggling to see how I can replace it. Even with boosting my security (which I am gonna be doing big style) I really can’t face the thought of going through this again. If the scum bags want somit not much will get in their way.
So I face the decision, replace and face a potential loss again or go without and not be able to enjoy the biking that I descovered so late in my biking life but totally have fallen in love with.
Am trying not to get too upset, after all it was just a bike, no one got hurt. God this has made me so flipping angry!

Ah well, will see how it plays out, but shall not be replacing it in the near future :(

Goodbye silly bike, you didn’t get a lot of use but every ride gave me the hugest grin.

That’s how I felt when I had mine pinched, Pete. It really makes you angry and you wonder whether the next one is going to suffer the same fate. I’d do what you suggested, beef up the security then have a rethink.

So sorry your bike was stolen bud.Dont let the feckers grind you down, keep on biking, its in your blood and if it makes you smile in this shit hole of a world we live in then go get another and enjoy every day.I know I would.Yes beef up the security and more but please dont stop smiling, life is too short mate.

I think uprating the security is a very sensible idea, but so is buying another 2-stroke dirt bike, even if a slighter older one…they look too much fun to give up. Don’t let the b@astards win!

Give it a while though as an old criminal trick is to nick something, wait for the victim to get a replacement with the pay-out and then raid again…so I would give it a few months. This would give you a chance to enjoy the Duke anyway!

aye, with beefing the security up I’ll not be able to afford to replace the KTM for a while anyhows even with a cheapy bike, the Ducati is over £550 a month (not including insurance etc) which is really stretching my finances as it is.

I’ll not get another top end bike new although the KTM Freelander E is a very interesting prospect. However I am tempted by a trials bike, small enough to hide in my room on base in Scotland so the scum bags can’t rob it and a gallon of fun plus a new skill to learn!

I still massively miss the lil 200, it was such a cracking bike. Can’t see me getting an other dirty bike in the near future though. I will still have dirty fun, just maybe on hire bikes or just on silly little commuter bikes! :D
