My trusty Thundercat is now 13 years old and the time has come to treat the old girl to a bit of a tidy up over the coming winter. I will plan to do the following:
Rear suspension:
Remove, clean an regrease. I might get the shock rebuilt too…I know a man who can.
Front Suspension:
New fork oil, regrease and adjust steering head bearings
Brakes:
Braided lines and new fluid
Carbs:
Remove, clean. Balance
Exhaust:
Clean and re-paint the down pipes
Consumables:
Oil/filter and a new back tyre
Hopefully this should freshen the old girl up noticably, especially the cornering and handling.
I will post a few updates and pics as I progress through.
First job though is to make some room in the garage to do the jobs!

September 15, 2011 at 8:59 pm #62746RadarModeratorIt was freezing when I did up the FZ600 with Katana a couple years back, still beats Corrie/BB on the telly!

No progress on the Thundercat yet. I will ask the chap about your ZX6R though
September 28, 2012 at 7:06 pm #62751RadarModeratorWell the Cat did receive a bit of a clean up, but I did not get around to fettling the rear shock.
The biggest update was the fitting of a Givi rack, most useful it has proven too. I have a Givi rack on the FZ1S too and share a topbox between the two bikes, fitting to whatever bike I am using on that day. The box is not the collest accesory but has proven bloody useful!
The integrated luggage system in all of its’ glory!October 1, 2012 at 2:54 pm #62752ses310ModeratorMaybe you can treat it to a new shock this winter
