Hi guys, thanks for bearing with us while we sorted out a few technical problems today.

Seems to be done now.

To combat the flood of spammers that use automated software to post across thousands of forums, we have changed lots of our code. Result is a new section on the registration form for new members and a few questions that needs answering before sending email for existing members. Automatic reporting to the spammer’s ISP is now carried out within seconds of a spam detection. A few other tweaks here and there should stop most of the rubbish getting through. IF WE WANT TO BUY VIAGRA THEN WE WOULDN’T BUY IT FROM A BIKE FORUM!

Thanks to the super-quick moderators and eagle-eyed members who pick up on any stragglers that get through. Please let me know if you see any new ways of getting through that aren’t plugged.

Thanks imperialdata, I wondered why my last post refused to get through, since yesterday. Yes I noted the intrusion a couple of days ago, and didn’t try to go to the link that was posted, it’s rapid deletion shows that THE TEAM are on the ball. I WILL email my suspicions (should there be any) in the future. Cheers

Spammers…..the bane of many a webby’s life! I get loads trying to join BC as you know Dave, does me head in!
