Tamada out of action after qualifying crash
Makoto Tamada won’t be on the grid of the betandwin.com Grande Premio de Portugal today after sustaining a fracture of the right scaphoid when he crashed on yesterday’s MotoGP qualifying practice session.
Konica Minolta Honda team manager Luca Montiron explained that the Japanese rider suffered a cracked bone, but still has to undergo further medical checks to establish the seriousness the injury.
“Makoto’s fracture is still opening, so he still has to do some checks and see how it goes,” said the Italian. “We are disappointed to start the Championship this way. We thought we could improve on the Jerez race but we didn’t have luck. Now we just have to hope that Makoto recovers for the next Grand Prix in China, even if he won’t be 100% fit then. We’ll see how the injury evolves in the next few days.”

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, Vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming…….WOO HOO, what a ride!
