Tamada hopes to continue dominance in Australia

Makoto Tamada arrived in Australia this week in confident mood after setting the fastest lap time from three days of test at Sepang. The Japanese rider is still getting to grips with Michelin tyres after switching from Bridgestone but has already showed signs that he could be the man to challenge Valentino Rossi for the MotoGP World Championship in 2005.

After suffering the effects of a fever and high temperatures in Malaysia, Tamada has now fully recovered and is looking forward to a change of scenery as he continues his preparations for the new season aboard the Honda RC211V.

“I can’t wait to begin these three days of test because I really like this circuit since it is completely different from the others on the MotoGP calendar,” commented Tamada, who took two victories in 2004.

“I am really curious to understand how the RC211V and mostly the Michelin tyres will respond at such a hard circuit. I’m convinced that I will be able to confirm here in Australia the great results we had last weekend.

“I also want to discover every single secret of the track in order to improve my results here from the last two Grands Prix I have raced here. In 2004 I was eighth, even though I was quick in qualifying and started on the second row. In fact, the year before that I was tenth!”

Konica Minolta Honda Team Technical Director Giulio Bernardelle is also in positive mood ahead of the test, where he is confident of taking further steps forward.

“We are having this test when the summer is about to end here, whilst the Australian Grand Prix in October will be the end of the winter so the weather will be very different,” commented the Italian.

“Nevertheless, I know that this racetrack will be really hard but we are curious to understand our real potential. Last weekend in Sepang we made some good development work and found a proper setting for the bike, therefore we will have to adapt it to the characteristics of this circuit to be able to evaluate the package we have at our disposal. We are ready for three hard days of work.”

LOVE IS GIVING SOMEONE THE ABILITY TO DESTROY YOU, THEN TRUSTING THEM NOT TO.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, Vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming…….WOO HOO, what a ride!
