A POLICE chief who champions speed cameras was red-faced yesterday because a legal blunder may mean 6,500 drivers’ cases being re-opened.
Chief Constable Richard Brunstrom’s North Wales force is writing to motorists convicted in their absence of speeding since June 2003.
They are those who pleaded not guilty but were found guilty.
The move comes after a judge blasted the use of sworn statements by officers where signatures had been scanned in — instead of being individually signed.
