Ok, doing a run up to Snake pass. So far its just me, togs and maybe chilli. We will be in Ashbourne around 1230pm – 1pm for a quick coffee. From there we will be making way up to the Pass. Any one up for it? If you live North of Ashbourne, post here or pm me and we can meet you enroute…..[]

May 15, 2005 at 9:04 pm #27173GixParticipantGood road aint it the A515, we took it from Yoxall to Ashbourne. There was me, toggsy and thumper, you could say the usual suspects LOL!! We had a brief stop in Ashbourne for a cuppa then thumper had to head back cos he was off to a christening.
Me and toggsy hit the A515 again and headed up towards Buxton, then up Long Hill to Whaley Bridge (nice). Then a short stretch of dual carriageway towards Chapel en le Frith and onto the A624 to Glossop.
A brief ciggy and fuel stop in Glossop and we hit the Snake Pass.
The first part of the Snake Pass is very twisty but in places very rough surfaces. A shame about the surfaces cos the actual road has some lovely hard bends. However, as you progress along the road, the surface does improve though still rough on some of the bends. Alot of traffic today too. Still a good ride though. Before getting right to Sheffield we doubled back and headed back the way we had come, stopping for a break by the lakes and the turn off to Bamford.
Some lovely scenery….sorry about the strange looking fellow! He just would not move!and here he is again sitting on a double decker bike…strange man!
From there we headed down towards Bamford, Hathersage, Bakewell and on to Matlock, and then B5035 back to Ashbourne, finally onto A515 and home…..

Also have relatives in Bamford. Glad you had a good day and lovely pics, I love the Snake Pass
