We have a couple of Cagiva 125 and some more RD350s that I am rebuilding. The chassis for the 500 came from Frank Sanderson at Lambretta Innovations in Preston, he specialises in bike engine conversions. I just put it together and got it running. Theres still loads to do on it, suspension is next on the list similar to the F2 from Maxton and a cr ratio gearbox and straight cut primary gears etc etc…… The other thing we do is sidecars, weve just started getting back into it and plan to be out next year for a few meetings, a pic is below with the older engine from a few years ago, it has the later RR injection engine now. I hope the pic comes through.

September 8, 2013 at 8:32 pm #66303RadarModeratorLooks fantastic, is that Blade or 600 engine in the sidecar?
Which RD350s are you re-building?
September 9, 2013 at 7:57 am #66304alanl250ParticipantI have a couple of 350YPVS which i am trying to rebuild, also the engine for the sidecar is the 600, the blade engine (929 and 954cc) will fit and I have the both engine and running gear (exhausts/carbs or injection) for that but I think it wouldnt be competative against the lwb F1 type sidecars so we ended up staying with 600cc.

NOTHING would get me on racing sidecar as a passenger

September 10, 2013 at 8:54 pm #66311RadarModeratorSaid it before, but it does look like very serious fun! Got to agree on the 350 graphic too.
My RD is flattered by the pic to be honest and needs a fair bit of work to be a truly tidy example, but it does go ok and has not long since passed the MOT again. Great fun to ride
September 10, 2013 at 10:44 pm #66312HippoDronesParticipantI have a partial 350LC…. my lil RXS/YZ 100 hybrid has a righthand exhaust spanny slightly modified to fit!
September 11, 2013 at 7:16 am #66313alanl250ParticipantThe 350 graphic was used to hide the large holes in the dummy tool box , as its actually a radiator cover. The legsheilds are cut away underneath/front behind the front mudguard to provide an intake for the rad, it seems to work ok and I have a fan on it as well just in case it gets too hot in traffic.
September 11, 2013 at 11:15 am #66314HippoDronesParticipantcool, I’d not noticed the holes till you mentioned them! Bet that gets a bit toasty riding it on hot days?
September 11, 2013 at 2:49 pm #66315alanl250Participantit does get a bit warm on hot days but its not too bad and on the colder days its like blown air central heating!!
