Shelsley Walsh, the world famous hill climb track that nestles amongst the beautiful rolling hills of Worcestershire was hosting the monthly ‘Breakfast Club’ again a couple of weeks ago. My elderly Lotus Excel isn’t used very often so I took this opportunity to dust it off for the enjoyable run over there. I was joined by my old mate and occasional forum contributor Toggsy in his venerable 1974 Triumph Stag V8.
There was a huge turn out on this sunny July morning, around 200 cars or so, so my Excel was banished to the overflow field
The Amphicar, this one has even managed to paddle it’s way across the channel…check out the propeller, high exhaust and slogan on the bottom of the number plate

Toggsy’s Stag…don’t mention the missing grille badge it really gets on his nerves…oppsWe had fun driving there and back too, the roads are fantastic and I was laughly inwardly as a hussled the Lotus along with Toggs gamely hanging in there at the wheel of the Stag, V8 bellowing…I could even hear his tyres squealing above all the row my old bus was making!
