    Taken fromour local rag:

MOTORCYCLISTS from all over the country are revving their engines as they prepare to once again converge on Stourport to raise money for teenagers with cancer.

Last year’s fourth annual Ryan’s Ryde was the first to ride through Stourport and attracted about 2,500 bikers, raising thousands for the Paul Ackrill Fund.

Motorcycles, scooters, trikes, sidecars and three-wheelers all made their way through and around the town, escorted by the police and a police helicopter.

This year’s ride out will meet at Hopwood Park services at junction 2 of the M42 at 11am on Sunday for a noon departure.

Riders will then make their way to the Old Beams Pub, Dunley Road, Stourport, about 40 miles away.

Ryan’s Ryde was started by organisers by Martyn and Barbara Yates, who wanted to raise enough money to give back to the Paul Ackrill Fund the £500 donated to their grandson, Ryan, who died of cancer.

There will be free camping and a Saturday night party at the Moat House Inn, Kings Coughton, Alcester.

The suggested donation for the ride out is £5. Contact Mr Yates on 077386 20685, e-mail [email protected], visit paulackrill.co.uk or join Ryan’s Ryde on Facebook.

I went last year – great day!

If the weather looks OK I’ll be there.

Its all lies, I went in 2008 :)

Anyway, a good day out. Although it was a bit of hard work negotiating some of those roads in parade mode. My zx6 doesn’t like crawling at 20mph.
It was very impressive to see so many people turning out for the run and the spectators in Stourport too and after a bite to eat managed to get some dry roads heading back to Birmingham.

Nice to see a few faces again, its been too long.
