The sound in the vid is of my mates bike, my bike was the one that went straight on instead of around the first hairpin! lol
Bits of the circuit are awesome but it just doesn’t fit as a whole thing!
The first hairpin (the one in the vid) is ok but the other hairpin is a joke, going in tight dont work, wide dont work or inbetween either. Most of the days offs were on the second hairpin. I think the national circuit is better suited to bikes, but as said before I wont be rushing back to find out!
July 18, 2008 at 1:03 pm #55192RadarModeratorA couple lads I worked with at Metzeler did track days at Rockingham and they rated it if I remember correctly, that was back in 2002ish
July 18, 2008 at 3:42 pm #55193HippoDronesParticipanta lass I know did the Calefornia Superbike School there the week before and she did it on th National circuit which she said was awesome. My bad experiance is most likely due to being poorly and a hangover. But the amount of crashes in the morning suggest to me that I am not alone in my criticism of the design of some of the corners there! LOL

July 18, 2008 at 4:23 pm #55195HippoDronesParticipantThese are the phots I took from the camping and a few on the day:
getting ready to go
The campsite
Adam covering Shilly and anything near in glowstick guts!
Shilly becomes glow in the dark!
Steves van wont start, so Shilly kindly offers to push it with….. MY BLINKIN VAN!!! lol
The cam belt had gone so no hope of getting it going. We grab Steves stuff and ferry him to the track while the AA ferry his knackard van home.Beautiful morning sky was reasuring
Fast group going out for their 1st session, clouding over now, oh-oh!
Weather stayed cloudy but dry all day
The pits
Turns out that Steve, the guy whos van died at the campsite that we’d never met or knew was going (he was a +1 of another GJ that ended up canceling as his bike broke) only lives 10 miles from my home town so we bundled his bike and bits in the back of the van and got him home safe too, his day would have been miserable if he’d not been able to leave the campsite except with the AA so we were happy to help, but glad he didn’t have even a pair of ear plugs more kit! LOL
July 21, 2008 at 1:00 pm #55196RadarModeratorExcellent pictures as ever, nice to see that the Transit is having an easy life! You could have got your Triumph in there too with a little effort, lol!! I am surprised there was enough air in the van for you to breath!
July 21, 2008 at 1:33 pm #55197HippoDronesParticipantHahaha, it was a rather tight squeeze for sure!
July 21, 2008 at 1:42 pm #55198HippoDronesParticipantHere are the first lot of pro phots from the day, these were by the guy the TDO brought with them, I have some others by a mate coming once he has sorted through them and edited. I won’t post them all as there are loads, but the cream of the crop:
July 24, 2008 at 12:54 pm #55199RadarModeratorI can’t see the last lot of photos for some reason
July 24, 2008 at 2:02 pm #55200imperialdataKeymasterI can see them and I’ve got to say they are excellent shots. Would make great enlargements for the wall.
July 24, 2008 at 2:46 pm #55201HippoDronesParticipantThey hosted on facebook, so you should be able to see them???
try looking on my fb albums to see if you can see them there?
July 24, 2008 at 2:55 pm #55202HippoDronesParticipantThey have come out reasonably well, I was concentrating on my body positioning most of the day and I think I pretty much mastered it on the left handers, but the righthanders were a pain, no idea if it was coz of my injuries from Cadwell or my leathers or just my head???
Anyway, this is my favorite phot from the above (just for you radar I have stuck it on photobucket LOL
