Well Hi guys & gals, Thumper ain’t just no Thumper no more!
Here is what Alchemy in Newton’s day is to modern Life…… a recipe to take up to 20 years off you instantly. As the song goes……..
Nice one SRX,
Nice one ZR,
Nice one Thumper,
Let’s have a TDR…A 17 year old Yamaha TDR250 no less, I’m old enough to be her dad!
What an undiscovered bike?!…. a super-moto ahead of it’s time.
What do you get if you put a 50hp YPVS engine in a not a lot more than a DT125R frame….. A saucy hooligan that’s what!
A disappointment below 6000rpm, but what a treat when the power valve opens up an allows the lovely stroker twin to breathe properly. Fantastic power & noise delivery all in an insane adrenaline rush.
Doesn’t handle that badly either….. summers around the corner so I’ll have to tell you all about it then.
I just can’t understand why they didn’t sell squillians of these! – you have to have a go – smiles are guaranteed!
Thumper turns Stroker…. And the blue smoke returns! [|)]

If anyone can clear a bike out it’s Thumper! At one stage there were sparks flying out of the exhaust. We pulled over to investigate but it looks like it was bits of red hot gauze in the baffle which were being blown out. “Go easy for a bit just in case” I said. Yeah right. Later, when I caught up with him (ie parked) I had the mandatory 2nd go on the bike which I have to say brought a huge smile to my face. As the man says, they should have sold loads of these, what a fun tool! Trouble is you can’t knock 20 years off my age as I’d only be 5 (be gentle)…..February 2, 2005 at 5:33 pm #22682GSX RatParticipanthad a ride on one myself – great wheelie machine.
But, to make it better you want to look out for a 350 powervalve engine and shoehorn that in. Seen it done – fackin mental!
I slept with faith and found a corpse in my arms on awakening; I drank and danced all night with doubt and found her a virgin in the morning.
