All the new busas are restricted to 186mph via some sort of gps intergratedb into the ecu or sothing ????????? there is on the market a simple derestricter that replaces the gear registy module in effect it tells the ecu that the bike is in 5th gear when it is actually in 6 th so can anybody explain this easier ( laymans terms )
how the restrictor works in the first place, and what sort of top speed to expect with the derestricter fitted, with no other bog standard. adress https://secure.mycart.net/catalogs/catalog.asp?prodid=5007965&showprevnext=1February 8, 2008 at 3:50 pm #54750imperialdataKeymasterI think the explanation isn’t too bad. Here’s a few links that might help unless I’m missing the point here:
https://www.hayabusazone.com/tre.html
https://www.wardsweb.org/busa/hayabusa_mods_tre.html
https://www.hayabusazone.com/tre.html
And tons of Busa links here including forums that specialise in them:

Hope this helps mate!

February 8, 2008 at 11:47 pm #54753RadarModeratorI find it worrying that the company who can offer to de-restrict your 186 mph motorcycle cannot spell different correctly

Not sure as my busa was a 1999 unrestricted one.
I did the tre mod myself and ran superb with no problems what so ever.
As for the restricted bike i have no idea……but for best info then http://www.200mph.org
From HOS of DTP
The TRE is a common mod on later “resitricted” busas.
There are plenty of good links posted on the link you posted their giving detials of the TRE mod, or as Beta says check out 200mph.org
Easy mod for the missing top end

February 12, 2008 at 8:15 pm #54758prezzoParticipantFound a new speed restrictor eliminator its simlar to a TRE except it replaces the gear indicator inside the clutch housing. Cant find a UK supplier the US price is $109.95 but they want $78 for delivery its only the size of a car ignition switch
So I emailed them and asked if its that price, is it hand delivered by Angelina Jolie ? waiting for a response, will keep you posted love winding yanks up. - AuthorPosts
