Anybody fancy doing this one?
Say a 50 mile loop on the bikes, bit of brekky and then into the meet about 11:30am
April 12, 2011 at 8:22 pm #62383katanaParticipantYep I’m up for it.
Might have to meet you there – depends on what time I kick out my weekend visitors.
April 12, 2011 at 8:50 pm #62384ses310ModeratorI might well be up for that, will have to check with the Mrs first though and make sure she hasn’t got anything else planned
April 13, 2011 at 5:27 pm #62385imperialdataKeymasterNot here unfortunately, which is a bummer because I would love to do this run.
April 13, 2011 at 9:47 pm #62386TT07ParticipantWill be working throughout the day, pity really as my Dad lives at the farm!

April 25, 2011 at 12:03 am #62393RadarModeratorOk TT. I will be there with Katana and Thumper.
Andy Miles will be floating around too as will Ses310
April 29, 2011 at 8:48 pm #62394RadarModeratorIn the end I rode to Red Marley this year with Thumper and Katana. We also met up with Ses310 and his girlfriend who had driven there.
The event pits pre 1970 classic dirt bikes against a monster hill in the wilds of Worcestershire. Always a popoular event locally and this year the very resonable £7 gate entry went at least in part to Help for Hereos
The bikes race in a variety of catorgories and engine sizes in groups of four with the fastest two making it through to the next round. Riders from 16 to 75(!) take place and the roar of brit bikes on open pipes and the crackling of Chezch two-strokes feels the air. All this as the sweet smell of Castrol hangs in the air…brilliant.
The official website will give the details…

A few pics from another grand day out:
My Thundercat, Katana’s Fireblade and Thumper’s Tiger. Sometimes I feel like I am typing in code!
The event is set in stunning Worcestershire and was blessed with bright sunshine this yearThe bike park threw up some nice bikes too:
A proper off-road bikes, before BMW spoilt everything with huge bikes saddled down with more kit than an average army
Rare Laverda twin, pretty bike…
Ice cool
Traditional trike shot
Thumper has dreams about Monkey bikes…
Blimey! A GT750…how rare
A sublime way to get to physio…
Loving the wicker top box…more British than a huge wedding costing millions! We also had a wonder around the trade stands and pits
Inventive use of an old beer barrel!
This electric off road bike was also on show and four of them atacked the hill with some gusto. However the run was performed in silence…this electric power is all very clever, but is dubious environmentally and lacks any kind of drama in competetion
This Enfield Fury really caught my eye, but £6000 is proper moneyBut this what the day was about…
The mighty hill itself…
Waiting for their turn for a crack at the hill…
State of the art riding gear was not exactly the order of the day!
Out of the gate!
You have got to keep it wound on
Not everybody makes it!
Recovery can be tricky
We made it to the top on foot…thats Thumper and Katana up there
This the view from the top
The races came thick and fast all afternoon
We even managed to spot Ses310 in the throng
No day out is complete without a ‘light salad’!Cracking day out!
April 30, 2011 at 9:48 am #62395ses310ModeratorGreat pics there Radar, still haven’t got round to taking mine off the camera! Will post some when I get chance.
It was a brilliant day and for once the english weather was fantastic!April 30, 2011 at 3:06 pm #62396imperialdataKeymasterCracking shots, especially the rider about to fall off.
Once again I was on holiday so missed this event, I really fancy it. Any ideas how much it would cost to compete in the hill climb?
