I have not used the RD since it passed the MOT a few weeks ago, in fact I have barely used it all year, which is a real shame and a bit of a waste. So Sunday morning I took the opportunity to meet up with Lucky Rookie and a few of his mates for the brief but enjoyable ride to Quattford on the outskirts of Bridgnorth. Cracking road the A442 no matter how many times you ride it.
I met up with LR at a local pub, he was on his stunning 61 plate Fireblade and his crew were on a variety of Blades, R1’s and GSXRs. The poor old RD was going to be a little outgunned today!
LR and his Blade in shadow of my mighty LCIn the event it wasn’t a problem as I tucked in behind one the Blades and a R1. LR wanted to hang back and smell the RD’s exhaust…you get this a lot when you ride a classic 2 stroke! It was a fun ride to Quattford and as usual there was a strong turn out bikes, especially sports bikes today for some reason. I parked my LC alongside a tatty but quick looking TZR250 3MA, 1989 vintage…kindred spirits and all that.
We all had a bit of a natter over a cuppa; LR’s lads are a good bunch. I had to shoot of to get back on family duty so couldn’t stop long, but they were not going far either as they wanted to get home and watch the GP.
So a brief run, but the RD got some miles, LR got to wiff some 2 stroke and I met some new people…so all good!
