Off a little from my own project here is a picture of my dads bsa bantam d3 engine that I have just finished restoring
dont know why it’s upside down but photobucket saved it like this

That Bantam lump looks nice, a really classic engine design (so good it was pinched more than once!).
I take it the RD frame is gloss black powder coat?
Gloss black …of course it should of been back today but looks like it will be tomorrow now

I think the story goes that the British got the engine designs as ‘war bounty’ at the end of WW2, so the BSA Bantam is a close relative of the old MZ range of bikes.
In summary we got a slow commuter motorbike while the USA got the V2 scientists developed the Apollo rocket and went to the moon…

It sounds a long time but I want to bring it out on my birthday next year in April I think it’s an achievable target ….even if its ready before I will wait
i still do not know why photobucket puts it in upside down.
But here is the frame and it looks spankingif you take the pic on an iPhone it saves the way the phone is orientated when you take the pic… the iPhone itself will still show it the right way round tho so it tricks you. Try taking the photo with it the other way up if using an iPhone!

Stripping shock absorber to get centre re zinc plated and spring repainted one done ill post picture
Shock absorber is now nearly complete, I would of preferred if the passivate was a little more yellow but it’s close enough.
