Not sure if it qualifies as a rat bike, just a bit grotty really, but I’ve just inherited a non working xs250 Yam. Not sure if it is worth getting on the road as it might fall apart soon.
Are the getting collectable or am I dreaming?[:0]
March 15, 2008 at 9:55 pm #55002RadarModeratorBlimely an XS250! They looked rather like coffin tank RD250s but with a four stroke engine. Carb set up and starting could be a problem if memory serves. Anything from the 1970’s would be a clssic now, just by surviving that long!
1978 XS250 found radomly on the internethttps://vintagebike.co.uk/Bike%20Directories/Yamaha%20Bikes/pages/Yamaha-XS250-77.htm

October 12, 2011 at 4:16 pm #55004hammyModeratorWell, 2 years on from this post and I can safely say the XS250 is looking ratty still. Bad news is it fell over and into my new Fireblade. Ouch, £110 to repair the blade properly. Still love the old gal though.
