Not sure if it qualifies as a rat bike, just a bit grotty really, but I’ve just inherited a non working xs250 Yam. Not sure if it is worth getting on the road as it might fall apart soon.

Are the getting collectable or am I dreaming?[:0]

Blimely an XS250! They looked rather like coffin tank RD250s but with a four stroke engine. Carb set up and starting could be a problem if memory serves. Anything from the 1970’s would be a clssic now, just by surviving that long!

Fell off the XS250 because it handled so bad. Was cooking it at the time too though. Now it definitely looks like a rat bike

Well, 2 years on from this post and I can safely say the XS250 is looking ratty still. Bad news is it fell over and into my new Fireblade. Ouch, £110 to repair the blade properly. Still love the old gal though.
