June 25, 2010 at 6:30 pm #60877TT07ParticipantFor the uninitiated Pete, what model is it?
June 25, 2010 at 6:42 pm #60878HippoDronesParticipanttis a 1992 Yamaha TZR 250 3XV
June 27, 2010 at 9:08 pm #60879HippoDronesParticipantthe bike went above what I wanted to pay…. the seller did however get in touch with me as soon as the auction finished saying the winner was French and wanted the seller to get it to Dover lol. I may offer him on the bike outside of ebay but will have a think. It wasn’t in the best of condition and looked like it had been a race bike in the past as there was evidence of lock wiring.

June 30, 2010 at 2:33 pm #60881HippoDronesParticipantam waiting on the auction end on a different bike tonight to decide if I buy this rolling chassis or not:
June 30, 2010 at 8:31 pm #60882katanaParticipantLooks good Pete.
I sometimes come back through Wantage on my way home from work. If you want me to check it out for you then let me know (I’m not back at work until Tuesday though).
June 30, 2010 at 10:37 pm #60883HippoDronesParticipantcheers dude although its a non runner, as I only want the rolling chassis , well I won the auction tonight so may take a punt on the Mito at that price []
June 30, 2010 at 11:23 pm #60884katanaParticipantMito looks good at tha price.
Reckon you could squeeze an Aprilia 250 engine in?
July 1, 2010 at 5:49 am #60885HippoDronesParticipantno idea but most things can be made to fit, not interested in that tho as have the donor engine and the bike isn’t that much lighter than the tzr250 so imagine the RS to be similar as std bike. The single cylinder ktm engine will fit quite well as a general dimension type thing, just engine mounts that will need fabricating.
Here is a link to a similar project:
https://www.tjtuning.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=9626
that thread is well worth skim reading to the end, as loads of pics of the conversion etc, I shan’t be going so mad on zorst design, will prob just modify the std one but would like to tune the pipe for more top end if possible…. That should work in my favour too as to make a 2T more peaky you generally seem to shorten the pipe which will make fitting it easier to the dinky frame.
I shall probably run a build blog like my mate Paul has done for my KTM250f rebuild
