Well I’ve upgraded to a bigger van hense my for sale ad
Got myself an N-reg Renault Master Ambulance, 95,000 miles 2.5 diesel.
Its not as fast as the Transit and uses more fuel (also has a smaller tank which means more fuel stops but apart from that its awesome. It has hydraulic rear suspension and a ramp which makes getting the bikes in and out a breeze. Am still getting used to its extra size but its lovely to be able to stand up in the back properly! []
So now I have a proper “special bus” to transport my “special-friends”! LOL [:o)]
October 20, 2008 at 9:10 pm #56834RadarModeratorVery cool in a weird sort of way. Spray it orange and black! You have come a LONG way from your MG ZS180!!
October 20, 2008 at 9:35 pm #56835HippoDronesParticipanthahaha, am gonna keep it as it is…. All the while its an ambulance its tax-exempt!
Yeah, never imagined being content at 50mph on 4 wheels back then… more like 150! LOL
October 24, 2008 at 9:28 pm #56836RadarModeratorLiking the tax exmept bit!
October 25, 2008 at 8:31 am #56837maxParticipantvery nice, wot ya pay for it?
October 25, 2008 at 4:18 pm #56838HippoDronesParticipantThe tax exempt bit is very handy!
Only paid £705 on ebay for it, £700 was supposed to be my max bid but didn’t want it to go to someone else for the sake of £5!

approaching a roundabout last night on my way to work the brakes failed, fortunately no other traffic!
Managed to park up in a Little Chef to find the rear wheel on fire, by the time I got to my camera it had died down a bit:
AA were great, had a recovery truck to me in about 90min and they took me home:
The suspension has collapsed it would appear and the tyre has gone flat due to the fire. Looking on ebay now for a bargain replacement, Am not sure what I’ll get, as long as I can fit me bikes in and it has tax and MoT and is cheap and local and reliable and and and…. lol Am sure I’ll find somit but only really got around £500 so not gonna tick all the boxes am sure lol
February 17, 2009 at 10:42 am #56840imperialdataKeymasterWow, that’s brave, getting under the van to take a picture of the flames around the fuel tank!
Not worth a repair Pete?
February 17, 2009 at 7:52 pm #56841HippoDronesParticipantThink its stupidity rather than bravery! lol
Not with the suspender issues sadly and I got to have transport for Friday afternoon as me and the misses are off to a hotel in Kent. Can’t leave it dumped on the road either as the neighbours get snotty so all thats left is the scrappy. I emptied all my crap outta it earlier, it holds a lot of stuff, hope whatever I find can match its storage capacity!

February 20, 2009 at 12:20 am #56843RadarModeratorPete, check this out, you wouldn’t even need to unpack the Gixxer or KTM!
February 20, 2009 at 1:25 am #56844HippoDronesParticipantlol, that can’t be no ordinary white van….
Was not a lot of body roll on that corner!
