This particular Lancaster has no combat history, but remains a magnificient tribute to a brave generation:
It is strange to describe a weapon of war and death as beautiful… but they have a romance to them don’t they, like the Spitfire and Hurricane…. (and Vulcan to a certain extent.)
Modern fighters and bombers however impressive are colder, they still are flown by heros but are not the same as a prop/multi-prop driven plane (or elegant Vulcan Bomber)
