Dya leave yer lid on when filling up? More and more fuel stations are requiring bikers to remove helmets when paying for fuel, I for one leave lid on, at the end of the day, notice or no notice, it wont stop robberies at stations, and thieves will still leave helmet on whether they are going to rob the place or not. If I am required to remove helmet I go to another station, exception being if its at stupid oclock at an allnighter, can understand it may relax a nervous kiosk operator.
    Thoughts?

Keep it on. Its a got a flip front anyway and the garages I frequent, mostly know me. I’d never take it off. Gloves, keys, Wallet… to much hassle.

Think its also a case of where to put it whilst you fill up? On the seat and risk it dropping? On the floor and risk it getting splashed be the careless driver filling up alongside? I actually worked with a bloke a few years back who put his lid on the little island the pumps stand on, whilst his back was turned filling his bike up, some youths who had filled up on the pump next to him, picked his lid up and drove off, leaving him with no way of riding home. He had to call his girlfriend to get her dad to drop his down to him so he could ride home.

Saw one guy once who put his helmet on his wing mirror. I did it sometimes when I turned the bike over, so I could put it afterwards letting the bike warm up… or cut out… bloody manual choke!

Maybe there should be a helmet on the market that opens the front up and the sides out revealing our chubby squashed up faces like the centre of a big pansy or ‘Weed’ out of Bill & Ben!
