Well it finally arrived!!!!!!!! Took her for a little run in the tipping rain yesterday.. this running-in is torture!.. but it’ll all be worth it in the end. I was like a little kid at christmas. I’m so glad I hunted for the black version.. what do you all think???
October 6, 2006 at 11:04 am #51606GixParticipantwell its nice but in my opinion the front end is still ugly, even in black, and no fairing infills to stop the sh!t from mucking and corroding the downpipes. I do like the front brake set up tho, calipers and discs, not sure what pads it comes with as standard but if i were you i would replace asap with sintered if they are kevlar, sintered make less mess as well as improving the braking, the gold calipers are a pain to keep clean so anything that makes less dust is a bonus.
Like the black frame but also a word of advice, you get scuff marks by the rear sets but look on mandp or busters site for some protectors if you want to keep it looking as new.
All in all tho it looks a nice bike and a nice alround package.[]October 6, 2006 at 5:25 pm #51607imperialdataKeymasterAbsolutely gorgeous mate (even the front end). Nice choice of colour too, worth the wait. Happy scratching!
October 6, 2006 at 5:25 pm #51608RadarModeratorGot to disgree with Gix here and I think it looks stunning. I bet you are extremely chuffed. All tyhe black or charcoaled coloured 600’s are menacing looking machines. I think Gix has a fair point regarding the down pipes though. Might be worth investing in a way of keeping the muck off. Keep us posted as to your progress and impressions. If you fancy a few miles there is a meet at Crossgates a week Sunday. I will be there provided the weather holds off

It is a nice bike, I just think the front lenses are too big, thats the only thing that in my eyes spoils the looks of what would otherwise be a very stunning and aggressive looking bike.
You arent disagreeing with me Radar, you are disagreeing in my taste. At least it doesnt look like a shell suit on a bike, good job I bought mine for performance and handling, I certainly didnt buy it for its looks [:o)]October 6, 2006 at 7:25 pm #51611katanaParticipantlooks good – and sets off the pink chain nicely
October 6, 2006 at 7:59 pm #51612GSF K1ParticipantHmm. Kat – the chain was originally bright red, but two summers of being strapped to the ground anchor has had its effects!
Now done 115 miles, started lifting the revs up to 5krpm (60mph). Will be out again tomorrow, hopefully get up to the 200 mile marker and lift the revs another 1000 (nope this is not what Kwak recommend, but 500 miles at 45mph is bloody ridiculous!)October 6, 2006 at 8:22 pm #51613katanaParticipantstick it on the paddock stand and let it run in gear for 500 miles?
October 6, 2006 at 10:57 pm #51614DR EpromParticipantcheck this out:

October 6, 2006 at 11:22 pm #51615LionParticipantDont like how high the back end is on the ninjas, But still a rather sexual looking machine! Looks wicked in black! I’d be tempted to get smoked lenses though.
October 7, 2006 at 10:03 am #51616DiggerParticipantBloody good looking bike mate,I want to have sex with it…..now.
October 7, 2006 at 10:46 pm #51617GSF K1ParticipantKeep your dirty paws off Digger you sex-feind!
Now why didnt I think of using the paddock stand for run-in???
200 miles now done!

it wouldnt run it in properly because you wouldnt be putting the engine under enough stress del
October 11, 2006 at 12:56 pm #51619ScouserParticipantVery nice bike, but it would dissappear up my arse!
How can you have such a nice mean looking bike and a girly girly pink chain lock?!
Would worry about overheating with running in on paddock stand, even if it is water cooled.
