    Hi All,

    I was recently looking up parts for my CBR600RR 06 and found the site.

    I have a couple of questions that I’m hoping the technical experts might be able to assist with.

    I’m looking to squeeze a little more performance out of my standard road machine and was wondering on people’s thoughts to the most cost effective performance additions.

    So far I have considered:

    Air filters
    Exhausts
    Power Commanders
    Ignition Modules
    Quick Shifter

    I am also interested in peoples brand/model choices!

    Welcome to the forum

    The CBR600 is a fine bike as delivered and with modern fuel injection and engine management systems you need to be careful what you do. You could spend a lot money and wind up with a bike that might produce higher BHP figures on a dyno but be crap to ride on the street. If you want more road performance the best area is in the lower and mid range. This will give your bike better response coming out of corners and crisper throttle response for overtaking. To be honest my knowledge of the latesty offerings on the market is limited. So my advise is this:

    Think about where you want the extra performance in the rev range
    Where do you do most of your riding? Road or track days
    Do you want a sexy loud pipe that attracts the plod and can even be over the noise limit at certain track days.

    I would came up with your prioritirs, your budget and go on one of the more dedicated sportsbike forums, even one specific to CBRs.

    Quick shifters are a waste of time and money on the road, but if you intend to do ome drag racing “Run wot u brung” type stuff could be worth the money.

    Remember higher power generally comes at the cost of rideability overall.

    Be careful not to invalidate your bikes warranty or insurance.

    To be honest the simplest way to go faster would be to get the CBR1000 or similar R1,GSXR1000.

    For my mind the GSXR750 strikes a very good balance between reidability, weight and power.
