I told you it was big and that includes the photo. You can see above the hedges and 4×4’s. The linked braking is weird though; you press the back and the front comes on as well and vice versa, 60:40 split.
Suspension is quite soft with 36 settings on the rear but no adjustment on the front. Hand guards are handy (pardon the pun) keeps the wind chill off. The V twin is the firestorm engine but torqued down to 90BHP, but its good for 140mph on private roads of course!

Hows the Varadero doing on rough road? Heavy, moderate or light to handle? We have a few nice second hands for sale here in the Philippines and was thinking of getting one to head of in the mountains (this is job wise, cant get there with a cage or 4×4 and i blew up my KDX engine 2 weeks ago, sigghhh, FZX no good for where im going). Locals claim they are to short to ride a Varadero (its their reason why they sell, got me wondering?!?) , i can handle a KDX 200SR hight so im sure im tall enough for a Varadero.
Would love to hear some more about off-road use with this beauty.

    Greetz,

    Stan.

ID, Mileage is 12500, put another 110 on today to Matlock and back with Digger.
The bike is very torquey Stan DB but when you say take the bike off-road you mean just dirt / gravel tracks? It could handle them no problem but other than that it is too heavy for serious off roading. I’m only 5’10” and I’m on my tiptoes, but you can soften the suspension to give a bigger footprint contact. You would also have to fit the ‘knobbly’ off road tyres, but its a brilliant workhorse and suprises many riders withs its punchy take-up on acceleration. Since the photo I’ve fitted Givi crash bars, which are massive, Radar calls them Bull bars, the bike also has a headlamp protector and a rear hugger fitted as after market items.
Tank range is 200miles, clock and two trip counters are standard. The 2004 model now has 6 gears and has a digital dash, competitors are the BMW 1150G, Aprillia Capanord and Suzuki V-Strom
