The MotoGP preseason tour continues to roll on this week, heading to Jerez for the second Official Test. Starting today and continuing until Sunday, it will be the final chance for the teams to fine-tune their machines ahead of the 2006 season.
The 125cc category will take to the track first, the scene of the season-opening Grand Prix. A notable absentee will be the reigning World Champion Thomas Lüthi, who has been forced out of the Test by a fractured collarbone suffered last week in Catalunya.
250cc teams will be in attendance from Wednesday, with the Aprilia riders having shown themselves to be in fine form in last week’s Official Test.
For the second consecutive weekend, the MotoGP premier class will be testing in Spain from Friday. Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki take excellent results from Catalunya to the Andalusian circuit, whilst the Honda teams will be looking to put the RCV211V in top condition after a discreet first Official Test.
Australian Casey Stoner remains unavailable for testing, having undergone a shoulder operation. The LCR Honda rider hopes to be back in time for the season’s curtain-raiser on March 26th.
