March 2, 2008 at 4:06 pm #54885RadarModeratorHope you had a good day, I like Mallory Park, I first went there back in the late 1970s for the Transadlantic races. How did your day go Pete? Any piccies
March 2, 2008 at 10:51 pm #54886HippoDronesParticipantGrrr, stupid puter just deleted all I’d written in reply!
We had an awesome day and yup have a few phots but they from a cameraphone so not brillient unfortunately.
The Team, (www.gixerjunkiesracing.com) from left to right: MadMatt, Dave, Doddy and Sean
It was Doddy’s first ever time racing so he was a lil nervous but had a wicked time even though he was given a sharp intro into just how fast some folk are when he was lapped on the 4th lap of one race! GSX-R600 in blue
Sean has the most race experience and was on a GSX-R1000 in blue
MadMatt is on his second season now and has moved from a GSX-R SRAD 600 to a GSX-R600 k4 and although he is still getting used to it is really showing some of the more established folk how it should be done!
Unfortunately I didn’t manage to catch Dave out there as I only remembered to take more pics once he’d had all his races!

March 3, 2008 at 10:54 am #54889imperialdataKeymasterHi Pete. Just read this so can’t join you at Mallory (yesterday). Some good pics there, bet you were itching to get out on the track weren’t you?
Any legacy problems from your crash or are you fully recovered now?
March 3, 2008 at 8:19 pm #54890RadarModeratorAnother grand day out pete by the look of it. Do you have any plans to race the 750 if the track day experiences go well?
March 3, 2008 at 10:47 pm #54891HippoDronesParticipantid: I was so wanting to be out there… as far as my injuries go I am according to the docs as healed as I’ll ever be, just need to keep going to the gym and building up my core muscles and general fitness levels to ward off the back pains I get, my hip is still giving me gyp but I have to learn to deal with that, its not bad, more of a niggling thing that only flares up under exercise, which I have to do to keep the pain levels bareable in my back, kinda catch 22 but its my back that keeps me awake at night so I shall carry on the exercises as the hip is minor
R: was a really top day mate, it really really was!
As far as me racing goes I want to do it next year if funds allow, wont do it on the k7 tho, will buy a k1 or k2 GSX-R 600 I think and see how I get on. If I do well, then I’ll think about using a more modern steed but the moment you use something as new as my 750 it starts getting mega money whenever you bin it due to the cost of spares on ebay for the later stuff!
Wont say never, just not to start with as its a great road bike too and if it became my race bike then I’d have to replace it, which then means even more money to fork out!!! *lol*
March 7, 2008 at 7:42 pm #54892RadarModeratorIs the series they were racing in called the ACU GSXR trophy?
March 8, 2008 at 1:13 am #54893HippoDronesParticipantno mate, they racing in EMRA RoadStocks, most of their meets are up at Mallory so expect them to get a lot better as the season progresses!
I can do a cut and paste of their race reports if peeps are interested, but dont wanna bore those that arn’t!
