Hi All
I’ve got a late model NSR R that I’ve got to drop the engine out of.
I’ve stripped everything down and loosened all the engine bolts…However, the rear engine bolt has a very large diameter head on it with an alan screw type centre, the head has a separate large diameter thread on it as well which screws into the steel frame. The Head makes the bolt too large to withdraw through the access hole in the Alcast frame.
Question, how the hell do I withdraw the bolt far enough to get the rear of the engine loose.By the way, I’ve tried “double nutting” the other end of the bolt and unscrewing it from this oversized head, but it’s pretty gunjed up and I can’t get enough access/leverager to get this to work so far…
HELP..
Thanks

Just in case anyone else gets stuck…
The Large head is actually a cap and if you leave the nut in place the other side of the bolt and use a bug enough alan key, the cap will unscrew revealing the full large diameter thread I mentioned (this must be for aligning the back end of the engine). One you’ve got the cap off, there’s a smaller alan socket to undo the head which WILL now fit through the access hole so you can withdraw the bolt fully.
Should feel like a numpty, but, no amount of searching or the Manual I’ve got on CD would reveal this.

I assume you’ve got someone sorting yours, if not (when I know mine’s any good, and if your in the West Mids) I’ll put you onto the guy I used.
Cheers
