More importantly, is that your Trabant too (love ’em!)?5967cc, yes.
Yup, see above.
I am actually looking for a totally restored Trabant, so when I sell, do you want first refusal on this one? It is excellent and 100% dependable.
(Bugger-all to go wrong !)May 7, 2005 at 10:51 am #26592GSXR1000ParticipantPS
An American bike magazine carried out the same changes I have arranged, for their GSXR1000 (2005 model) and got the following figures, truly astonishing performance-value, at £11,000 total. (The price of a low-spec. Ford Focus fercrissakes !)
0-60 = 2.7 seconds
0-100 = 5.5 seconds
0-150 = 11.8 seconds (that figure is quite incredible, for a virtually stock street bike)
0-170 = 16.6 seconds
Top Speed (de-goverened, as mine will be) = 196 mph.

You know, there’s one area where these latest bikes have improved so much, that people don’t mention often.
How fast you can go in the rain!
I will admit that I am a fair-weather biker nowadays.
I have been ‘drowned’ hundreds of times already, but we got caught in the rain today, yet the speed the Suzuki would safely corner at in the wet was impressive.May 8, 2005 at 12:53 pm #26594imperialdataKeymasterI know some bikes are more skittish in the wet than others on the same tyres but I thought it was more down to the tyres than the bike whether you cornered faster in the rain. Nice to know they have improved on this aspect of performance too.
Pretty impressive figures you give for the modded bike. Let’s get the helmetcam sorted for a test run!
Oh and I’d love to get my hands on the Trabby but there’s too much to buy before that. Feel free to advertise it on the site, I know a few peeps who’d like to know more.
