You will learn!!
Anyway, got the new one run in yet?
September 24, 2010 at 6:25 pm #61461HippoDronesParticipantlol, collected it today. Weather isn’t so great and I want to get everything coated in WD40 before putting any miles on it.
Will start it up for the first time tomoz and hopefully get it run in by pub time!
September 24, 2010 at 6:28 pm #61462HippoDronesParticipantand with my old 250’s spare plastics:
Need to get some rad cowls and airbox plastics along with a sump and handguards
September 25, 2010 at 5:39 pm #61463HippoDronesParticipantCovered 1.5hrs on the engine today, am just into the powerband now. Will prob do another hour on it tomoz to get me to full rev range, drop the oil and then start working towards full open throttle. This is going to be so much fun, it is soooo light and responsive to changes of direction. Its pokey too… even sticking to my running in procedure it was sideways on a roundabout earlier spinning the rear tyre! []
September 26, 2010 at 5:36 pm #61464HippoDronesParticipantWent over to Ginger’s Farm today, put another hour on it this time in the bikes more natural habitat lol
What a little beasty this thing is! it is quite literally bonkers!
So so light and responsive, not just the chassis, but the engine too.
Am gonna drop the oil during the week and give the air filter a clean along with any other maintenance that the book says to do. Hopefully get out again next weekend too (must remember to lower the tyre pressure next visit, was running road pressures today and it was a tad slidey like that!
September 26, 2010 at 9:35 pm #61465RadarModeratorStraight in the mud, good man!
September 30, 2010 at 9:11 pm #61466HippoDronesParticipantThe KTM found its first green lane today, was only a little one but plenty long enough to get the bike rather splattered, am gonna go back to Ginger’s this weekend, gonna be a soggy one by the sound of the weather forecast but needs must! lol [] Hopefully a mate will be along with a decent camera and we’ll grab some action phots.
I spent an hour yesterday setting the suspension up, am sticking with middle of the road settings to start with, will harden them up if I go to Goldingbarn Raceway tho as its prob a little soft for the table tops landing lol. I was by myself so have only sorted the settings with respect to static sag, was unable to do the rider sag, will have a fiddle with that next time a mate comes round to give me a hand while I sit on it []
October 1, 2010 at 7:52 pm #61467HippoDronesParticipantBike is back at the dealers now, when they were preparing it they possibly overtightened the oil fill level plug and stripped the thread. Has ruined my day out on it tomoz but will be fixed by lunch time hopefully
