My best mate has swapped her 2004 GSX-R750 for a GPz500s on a Q plate and a million years old, god its a piece of crap but stupidly I offered to get it through its MoT for her birthday pressie. After needing to get a new battery for it I eventually got it started and took it for a spin round the car park… I have never ever ridden a bike with such bad brakes so the simple book it in for an MoT has now turned into a restoration project, not too chuffed at the prospect but have promised her now so feel obligated, just hope it don’t cost any more money coz just the new battery has over doubled the bikes value and with that and the MoT is a tad more than I’d really want to spend on a pressie. Hopefully it’ll just need a strip and clean up/grease and that will free the brakes up a bit. Will update as I get round to it :)

Those of you that have been on here a while may recognise the bike as the one a mate took to Donnington for a trackday, no wonder the lad crashed it is flippin horrid and I have no idea why Catherine is sooo excited bout getting it back on the road! lol

Thumper had one of these about 4 or 5 years ago. Not a bad little hack when running OK. Hope you can clean the brakes up ok. Look forward to the update. I hope see swapped it plus cash for the Gixxer!

the GPz was originally her bike which she “loaned” to her brother when he wanted a bigger bike than his RD125. He got it restricted to 33bhp and was supposed to upgrade the brakes with braided lines (which I gave him the money to do for a Christmas pressie lol) but he never got round to it I guess. He has since doing his 2year probation now got the GSX-R off his sister, he got it at a good price on the understanding that he gave back the GPz with a full MoT etc but it seems he has lost interest in sorting the bike and left Catherine without a motorcycle which sucks big style. I was fed up with that which is why I now have the task lol [:D]

The bike failed first time, went in for a retest on Monday and passed no probs, just a few gremlins that needed ironing out! [:D]

she is well happy to be back out on 2 wheels, the gremlins are just electrical, the bike is iirc fro ’87 so is entitled to have a few issues lol [:D]

We are friendly here, we have even had a few inter-forum meets in the past. Must sort out a meet for this year
