    Kawasaki GPZ900R
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kawasaki GPZ900R was a revolutionary Kawasaki motorcycle design, in that its 908 cc liquid cooled 16 valve engine was a first for Kawasaki, and delivered 115 brake horsepower (86 kW). Although its steel frame, 16 inch (406 mm) front and 18 inch (457 mm) rear wheels, air suspension, and anti-dive forks were fairly standard at that time, it was the first Japanese superbike that handled well. It had a top speed of 155 mph (248 km/h) (holding the record for the fastest production bike at the time), and a standing quarter mile time of 10.55 s. Though it sold in large numbers, Kawasaki ended production for Asian markets in 2003.

Blimey 2003! See ID, you DO have a modern bike![;)]

I can’t decide weather or not to get the 400 or the 500, the 305 model is shaft driven and already under 33bhp which would be ideal for me since I plan to run off 33bhp for my first two years anyway.
But I’m not keen on the shaft drive idea, I want a chain to keep myself in practice.

I thought the GPZ305 was belt driven??? I always wanted one of those when I was a college kid, but got a CB250RS instead.

Go for the GPZ500S.. more of them about an more spares too! They made em for bloomin years so you can pickup some relatively young ones that hevent been to the moon and back! Also very solid underpowered engines that should be trouble free if maintained.

Now the mighty GPZ is back amongst us all, how about an update ID? It seemed to be going well on the Memorial ride and the evening run outs

Will update you when I get a few miles under my belt this summer. Engine running sweet and it still seems to hold its own with more modern tackle. Fed up of people using the word ‘classic’ though.
