Bike (&car)racing legend has been made an OBE in the latest round of honours. Congratuations on a well earned reward. I spoke to hime at the 2006 Festival of Speed and he was a complete gentleman
Yes congratulations to him on his latest award. When you think about what he achieved all those years ago in winning both Motorcycle and Formula One Championships its absolutely fantastic (And of course he’s British to boot), you can but wonder if ANYONE can EVER match what he achieved. Radar is right ,he is an absolute Gentleman, I’ve seen him several times in the Paddock at Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb where he regularly does demo runs on a Vincent. He’s as ordinary as the bloke next door (Thats if YOUR next door neighbour is normal!).
He’s also the Patron of the MAXTRA RACING 125 World Championship Team
who start to challenge the Championship in 2009. The team is actually run by the largest Chinese motorcycle manufacturer Haojue who made 2.7 million units in 2007.
