I have a GPX 750 with a hydraulic clutch ever since I bought it the clutch bites right at the top of the lever. I don’t like that would rather it bit about half way. Is there some way to adjust where it bites or is it a symptom of a wearing clutch and I can only change springs or plates?

One or two things that are worth trying are:
1. Try bleeding the clutch
2. If the clutch fluid is old or looks cloudy or a dark colour replace itThe advantage of doing the above before you start pulling things apart is that it rules out the cheapest fix. Also if the clutch system bleeds successfully then its odds on that the master and slave cylinders are probably OK.
