Honda Motors have revealed their battleplan for 2006 season. In a statement issued this Wednesday, the Japanese company expressed their desire to “Secure the Championship in every category, from facing this new challenge until victory with a new generation of young riders”.
The Japanese factory confirmed that they would start with six official RC211Vs on the 2006 grid, represented by four teams – Repsol Honda, Fortuna Honda, Konica Minolta Honda and Honda LCR, in addition to being motor supplier for Team Roberts. The company goal is to win both the rider and constructors titles.
In the 250cc category, Honda will participate with four riders spread over two teams-Repsol Honda Team 250 and Team Scot- onboard the RS250RW. In the former, Argentine Sebas Porto will be accompanied by Shuhei Aoyama, All-Japan Championship 250cc winner in 2005 and the third rider to benefit from the Honda Racing Scholarship after his brother Hiroshi and Yuki Takahashi, who will continue with Team Scot together with Italian Andrea Dovizioso.
