Good day all []
As I’m new to this forum I will endevour to introduce myself. My name is Sam, and I have a 2005 model Honda CBR 125r. Got it 3 weeks ago, will be doing my practical test in a couple of weeks.
Anyone else had one? Its a nice little runner but lacks any sort of pulling power which is to be expected really. Was thinking of getting a big bore kit after (if) I pass and notching it up, but not too fond of tinkering around with the engine…
So basically I’m looking for advice for a newbie rider, I mean I’ve been on the road for about 2years with my 100cc speedfight moped, so really need advice about tuning or which bike to move up to that kinda thing.
If anyone else has a CBR125 would be great to discuss the bike [].

I wouldn’t bother boring the cbr125, just get a bigger bike mate
Welcome by the way bud!

That reminds me, make sure you buy a lock and alarm system for your next big bike, Clueless []

Get your practical test done and when you have passed, go get testing[]. You dont have to buy from the dealer, just try lol[]June 16, 2006 at 5:50 pm #49490LeviathanRanParticipantquote:

Sooo many times have I said
“Yeah I’m looking to buy a *insert bike here* can I sit on one and see how it feels?”
[] and of course dealers being the slimiest creatures on earth, they wont say no [:o)]

I you could have more trouble getting rid of the CBR if you “play” with it. Probably better off swaping it in for something faster.

One got totalled two weeks from new amd the other one got nicked after eight months from new. Good little bike, though as you say a bit slow, but when your learning before a test who needs speed. A bit light in a crosswind aswell. Fantastic bike for commuting though.

Good luck with the test. I’m with the others on boring/tweaking the CB. It’s a good reliable bike as it is, perhaps you’ll be straight onto a bigger one after the test. That said, if you enjoy tweaking and having a go yourself it could be fun.
Let us know if you break the 150mph barrier!
