my gixxer is a bit tight through the gears, I’ll explain, when im powering up through the gears the bike refuses to change gear and you have do a double take on the gear stick, causeing me a few embarrassing moments,[] this happens even when the bike is warmed up, she has just been serviced, (oil and filter) at the start it was in frequent, now it has become more frequent.

Does the lever move up but gear refuses to engage, or do you get little or no movement from lever and have to heft it up? Are you using clutchless shifting? And does it do it on a downchange?
If the chain/oil is ok then it may be worth checking the bolt in the centre of the selector drum cos if thats worked loose it can cause shifting problems.
Check clutch adjustment at pushrod end and make sure spline/footpeg assembly bolts are all nice and tight. - AuthorPosts
