There is a Grasstrack meeting on Sunday 23rd July at Offerton Farm , Hinslip, Worcestershire (junction 6, M5).
https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=hindlip&om=1&ll=52.22822,-2.156067&spn=0.203141,0.686646
Practice starts at 10:30 and racing at 13:00
The meeting is “The Masters Challenge” and there will be 250, 350, 500cc solo races and also 500 and 100cc sidecars (left and right handed).
These events are very competitive and great for spectators as you can see the whole track. The pits are also normally open so you can chat with the riders. The sight and sounds of bikes with no brakes doing over 70mph across a field are really something.
Have a look here for more details of the sport:
https://www.grasstrackracing.comLet me know if you are interested and I’ll contact the organisers and get some more details and proper directions.

May 11, 2006 at 7:29 pm #48749katanaParticipantJust got off the phone with Jayne, one of the organisers, who has given me the following extra info:
The Meeting is a national meeting for 500cc Solo and 1000cc R/H sidecars.
Racing will start at 1pm and there will be 42 races !!!!
Ticket prices are adults £10 and concessions £8
All parking is trackside so take along something to stop your side stand sinking (see “Helpful Bike Related Tips”).
The track is located just off Junction 6 of the M5 opposite Worcester Rugby Club (Droitwich Road) and there will be Castrol arrows to direct you from the M5 J6.
As this is fairly close to the world famous Ice Cream barge at Stratford Upon Avon we could always meet there in the morning and then ride through the Worcestershire country side to the track?
May 11, 2006 at 11:45 pm #48750RadarModeratorSounds excellent, count me in!
July 12, 2006 at 10:54 pm #48751RadarModeratorI am still up for this.
How about 10am meet on the outskirts of Stratford or similar for a breakfast meeet, then on to the races??
July 13, 2006 at 11:07 pm #48752katanaParticipantgood plan Radar
how about:
10:00 – 10:30 meet in the bike park in Stratford
https://www.first4gear.com/bikemeets/stratford.html10:30 – 11:30 ish sample world famous Baguette and Ice Cream barge delights of sunny Stratford
11:30 ride over to grasstrack meet (A442 – A4538 Pershore Lane – Hinlip Lane) via pub (location to be confirmed this weekend after I’ve done a reccy for speed cameras etc)
12:30 ish arrive at grasstrack meet
So who is coming?
July 14, 2006 at 12:33 am #48753RadarModeratorI’m in, possibly Thumper, ID, Toggs and couple of other mates
July 15, 2006 at 4:38 pm #48754katanaParticipantFor those off you that get up later and/or are bored of Stratford (even though it is nice). A good place to meet for a quick pint and a bite to eat at about 12:00 would be
The March Hare Inn, Broughton Hackett (On A422) which is easly accessable off the motorway and on route for the rest of us from Stratford

https://www.surplusandadventure.com/ishop/800/shopscr21.htmla good place to stock up on new riding gear for Radar or purchase that storm trooper uniform you’ve always dreamed of!

Pity mate – still you can’t do enough for a good boss!
So who’s coming now then
ID?, Thumper? , Toggs?
LeviathanRan – it looks worse then it is. It’s not uncommon for the sidecar boys to have a few spills. That’s why most of them are mad

Drop them PMs and they will confirm. Still an outside chance I can make it if we can finish on Saturday, the joys of unpaid overtime!
July 23, 2006 at 10:23 pm #48759katanaParticipantJust me – so really didn’t count as a Forum meet.
