The site now has the facility to email users. This has been brought about by the need to prevent spammers from joining the site. Now, when a new member joins, there is an automated confirmation email sent out which verifies the new member’s email address. They then click on an encrypted link to verify their origin.
As an added bonus, you can now choose to be notified when you get a PM. To turn this feature on and off, click the Private Messages link at the top of the page, click the Preferences button and turn email notification on or off.
A little blue arrow now allows you to jump to the last post in a topic, a nice little feature which a few people asked for.
Finally, the ‘Subscriptions’ links you see are not for paying money, they are for subscribing to a topic. You’ll get an email when someone replies to it. Be aware that your mailbox can fill up if you subscribe to too many. You can manage your subscriptions via the link at the top of the page.
As usual, please report any bugs you may find.

life sucks get used to it
January 10, 2006 at 5:45 pm #42037imperialdataKeymasterNot convinced by polls myself, don’t think they are used much. If there is a demand, I’ll put one in but it’s a lot of work if nobody uses it.
I still have a few things further up the list to sort out but I’m open to suggestions.
